Halo Laser at Mountain West Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa
The Sciton HALO laser treatment is a breakthrough in skin rejuvenation, combining deep resurfacing power with a gentle approach.
As the world’s first hybrid fractional laser, HALO delivers both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths in a single pass, allowing it to treat the skin's surface and deeper layers at once. Whether you're looking to improve uneven texture, shrink pores, fade sun spots, or soften fine lines and wrinkles, Halo offers a customizable solution with minimal downtime. At Mountain West Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa, we tailor each treatment to your skin type, lifestyle, and goals, using the most advanced Sciton Halo technology available to deliver new, healthy skin.

HALO is a dual-wavelength laser that resurfaces the skin by creating controlled zones of damage using both ablative and non-ablative laser light. The ablative wavelength targets the outer layers of the skin, removing damage and stimulating collagen production. The non-ablative wavelength penetrates deeper, encouraging cellular renewal without harming the surface.
This creates a microscopic treatment zone (called "microscopic epidermal necrotic debris") surrounded by healthy skin, which speeds healing and boosts collagen production. The result is smoother, brighter skin with a noticeable improvement in tone and texture.

Before treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied to keep you comfortable. Once numb, the Halo handpiece is moved across the treated area in a pattern that evenly distributes laser energy.
You may feel a warm, prickling sensation as the laser creates tiny channels in the skin. Most patients describe it as tolerable, especially with numbing cream. A typical session takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area and depth. After the procedure, the skin may appear red, feel warm, and show signs of swelling. Cold compresses and gentle skin care help calm the area.

HALO laser treatments are highly effective at improving common skin concerns, including:
HALO is most commonly used on the face, but it’s also safe and effective for the neck, chest, hands, and other areas prone to sun damage or visible aging.

HALO offers powerful results without the extended downtime of traditional ablative laser treatments. By stimulating collagen and removing surface damage at the same time, Halo helps:
Because HALO is customizable, it works for a wide range of skin types and can be adjusted to suit your specific needs. Most patients describe their results as natural-looking, with smoother skin that still feels like their own.
HALO is safe for most skin types and tones. It's a good fit for anyone with visible sun damage, early signs of aging, or uneven texture who wants noticeable improvement without a long recovery.
You may need to postpone treatment if you have an active infection, open wounds in the treatment area, or recent sun exposure. We’ll assess your skin and medical history during your consultation to ensure Halo is the right choice for you.

HALOlaser treatments are highly effective at improving common skin concerns, including:
You can expect redness, mild swelling, and a rough texture for the first few days after treatment. Tiny dark spots may appear (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris), which will naturally flake off as your skin heals. Most patients return to normal activities within five to seven days. To protect your skin and support healing, you’ll need to avoid direct sun exposure and follow your post-treatment instructions carefully.
Initial results can be seen within the first week, which many call the "HALO glow." The skin appears brighter, more even, and refreshed. Deeper improvements in texture and tone continue to develop over the next few weeks as collagen production increases. For some, a single treatment may be enough to see great results. Others may benefit from an additional HALO treatment for more correction. Your provider will help you plan a schedule that fits your goals.
