BOTOX® Cosmetic & Dysport®
Our highly qualified providers perform BOTOX injections in Kalispell, MT, to minimize forehead wrinkles and other fine lines around the eyes. The results are subtle and natural-looking yet help you look years younger. Besides being the world’s leading nonsurgical cosmetic treatment, BOTOX is also approved by the FDA for many non-cosmetic procedures.
What Do BOTOX and Dysport Treat?
BOTOX and Dysport injections treat a range of cosmetic concerns. Many people think of BOTOX and Dysport only for reducing horizontal forehead wrinkles or vertical “worry lines” between the eyes. But they are also effective treatments for:
- Crow’s feet
- Under-eye wrinkles
- Nose wrinkles or “bunny lines”
- Sagging corners of the mouth
- “Lipstick lines” around the mouth
- Prominent neck bands
- “Cobblestone” chin
- Overdeveloped jaw muscles
Meet Our Surgeons
The combination of surgical skill and decades of experience sets Dr. Spring and Dr. Hromadka apart from other plastic surgeons not just in Kalispell, but throughout Montana and the Northwest. Assisted by Kristy Ehrmantraut, PA-C, their surgical physician assistant, Dr. Spring and Dr. Hromadka are known for their down-to-earth personalities and for spending the time to truly understand their patients’ goals.
How Do BOTOX and Dysport Work?
Both BOTOX and Dysport minimize wrinkles and lines caused by years of repeatedly changing facial expressions. For example, squinting results in the gradual development of crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes, and raising your eyebrows etches lines in your forehead. BOTOX and Dysport temporarily immobilize the muscles used to make these expressions. Getting the desired results begins with choosing a provider with the expertise to inject either BOTOX or Dysport with precision, such as our certified physician assistant Kristy Ehrmantraut.
As a cosmetic injection specialist, Kristy often combines dermal fillers with BOTOX or Dysport injections to address multiple signs of aging in a single appointment—a technique sometimes called a “liquid facelift.” Fillers restore volume to help smooth lines, folds, and indentations from underneath.
What Happens During BOTOX and Dysport Treatments?
After discussing your concerns, Kristy or one of our board-certified plastic surgeons carefully make several injections directly into the small muscles that control movements in the treatment area. Most patients say the injections feel like a brief pinch. If you’re only getting BOTOX or Dysport, the appointment can take as little as 10 or 15 minutes.
What Is the Difference Between BOTOX and Dysport?
BOTOX and Dysport are composed of slightly different formulas based on the kind of protein that is attached to the botulinum toxin A molecule. BOTOX and Dysport have the same primary active ingredient, but Dysport tends to spread farther from the injection site.
How Long Is Recovery After a Treatment?
There isn’t any downtime after you get BOTOX of Dysport injections, meaning you can immediately resume your normal activities. There are a few mild side effects that you may experience, including minor discomfort and swelling in the treatment area. You should avoid rubbing the area for several hours after the wrinkle treatment because it can cause the active ingredient to migrate to another area of your face.
BOTOX and Dysport injections don’t produce immediate results, although Dysport results tend to appear a couple of days sooner than BOTOX. It typically takes 5 to 7 days before you’ll notice reduced wrinkling after BOTOX injections. The results last about 4 months.
